Burpees
The full-body conditioning exercise everyone loves to hate, and the fastest way to lose your breath.

How to do it
- From standing, drop into a squat and place your hands on the floor.
- Kick your feet back into a plank, chest to the floor.
- Bring your feet back under you and jump, hands above your head.
The two mistakes that cost you reps
- Skipping the jump at the top, which is the half that makes it a burpee.
- Letting the hips sag in the plank when you get tired.
How Orusta counts it
Orusta needs to see you fully upright at the top and fully down at the bottom. It calibrates on your standing position, so start the set on your feet.
Easier, harder
Easier
Step your feet back instead of jumping them, and skip the jump at the top.
Harder
Add a push-up at the bottom of every rep.
What a good set looks like
20 reps without stopping is already hard. 50 is a challenge you feel the next day.
