Saw
Seated, legs apart, the torso rotates then reaches: the one exercise here that works rotation.
The movement
Loading the coach
How to do it
- Seated, legs apart, arms out to the sides at shoulder height.
- Rotate the torso, then reach one hand past the opposite foot.
- Unroll to come back to seated, and swap sides.
The two mistakes that cost you reps
- Letting the opposite buttock lift, which turns rotation into a lean.
- Rounding from the shoulders instead of rotating from the torso.
How Orusta counts it
A rep counts on each side, from the rotation to the return to seated.
Easier, harder
Easier
Sit on a cushion, or bend the knees slightly.
Harder
Pause at full stretch and breathe out completely.
What a good set looks like
8 to 12 reps per side. Range matters more than pace.
